ASHA Training on Malariology

One ASHA Training programme has been organized on Malariology including other Vector Borne Diseases i.e. Dengue, Chikungunia, Japanese Encephalitis (JE), Kala-azar, Filaria etc. at District Hospital, North Tripura. Total 46 nos. of ASHAs & 2 nos. ASHA Facilitators under Dharmanagar Municipal Council were present in the training programme.

 

During this training period, ASHAs were provided with detail education on Malaria which included Blood slide examination and RD kit examination, EDCT (Early Diagnosis & complete treatment), treatment of Malaria, demonstration of proper use of LLIN and impregnation of Bed net, do’s and don’ts to control of vectors of various Vector Borne Diseases. Other than this filling up of M-ASHA (Malaria reporting) format was also taught in practical Sessions.

In the vector control session there were discussions on chemical control (e.g. IRS, Deltamethrine, Melathion use), Biological control, IEC to BCC activities, personal prophylactic measures taken by the community & environmental control.
